Modern printing: opportunities and challenges coexist

the development of the printing industry today is like an old man who has experienced vicissitudes: it has gone through the youth of the "Bisheng era" at the beginning of invention, the glory of the "self-esteem" in the replication and communication industry, and finally came to this diverse, complex and rapidly changing era. Similar to other traditional industries, China's printing industry is also inevitably suffering from the impact of all parties. External reasons include: the "covetous" of foreign giant companies, the "rising" of raw materials, and so on; At the same time, there are also internal reasons: the pressure of its own technological reform on the traditional printing industry seems to be even greater. Just digital technology is also driving the traditional printing into a desperate situation. However, most printing people in the industry do not seem to be ready, so they have to "at a loss" to watch the earth shaking changes that are about to happen

then, a pessimist said: printing will soon disappear! Even if it survives, the domestic printing industry will be swallowed up by multinational groups, and the leftovers can be shared by many surviving domestic enterprises; At the same time, there are also blind arrogants: these new technologies are far from us. Besides, reform is not a matter of a day or two. I may not be in this industry by then! Such two attitudes are obviously detrimental to China's printing industry in a delicate period: first, pessimists magnify the difficulties faced by the industry infinitely, from point to area. There are many kinds of modern transmission ways, but no one can completely replace plane printing. In other words, there is no transmission way that can have the characteristics of traditional printing, let alone taking the essence and roughness. Take the most common books and periodicals for example, their absolute position in the field of education and other communication. So far, no other way has a similar "image of the king". Only by clarifying this point can we have the motivation to find new methods and learn new technologies, at least it is not a "dying" sunset industry. Secondly, the idea of not facing up to the gap and proceeding entirely from personal interests will also bring heavy losses to the printing industry. If the industry has this illusion, we may not wait for the day when we "get out of the whole body", and we will lose everything. To enlarge, as the birthplace of the printing industry, China may eventually lose its traditional industry. Such actual situation does not allow industry insiders to slack off. We must go all out to win this tough battle that is about to begin

in fact, the above two aspects just show that China's modern printing is in an era of "opportunities and challenges". Specifically, there are the following aspects, which can be roughly summarized as "seven opportunities and seven challenges": it has its own development advantages

opportunities:

first, China's GDP has continued to grow for 25 years. According to the prediction of relevant parties, it will continue to grow for at least five years. Such a GDP growth rate was rare in previous years, and even developed countries could not have such a rapid trend in that year. This will undoubtedly bring a rare opportunity for the printing industry. The favorable macro-economy provides a suitable environment. If printers want to seize the opportunity, they will easily "go upstream"

second, the continuous introduction of foreign capital and the stimulation of tertiary industries such as hotels and service industries. In 2004 and 2005 alone, the introduction of foreign capital has exceeded US $60billion, which is undoubtedly a "booster" for the printing industry that needs development and urgently needs funds; At the same time, the objective demand of the tertiary industry for printed matter must also be due to the deformation of low-carbon steel under pressure. The use of chromium oxide grinding paste to grind large without cracking will certainly play a role in fueling the flames

third, strengthen the awareness of local enterprises. As domestic printing enterprises become more and more mature, their advanced consciousness in all aspects is gradually enhanced. The study of leading technologies and concepts will also increase their market competitiveness

fourth, the "Eleventh Five Year Plan" will expand domestic demand, and policies will provide guarantees. This is the good news from the market and policy support, which will promote all industries. As a pillar industry, the printing industry also deserves more opportunities

v. there will be 4million college graduates every year in China, and the number of people above high school will exceed 400million in the near future. This group of people with relatively high cultural reserves is the reserve force of various industries. In recent years, the printing industry has continuously applied advanced technology, which also urgently needs a large number of corresponding talents. With the guarantee of the number of people, we can select more suitable personnel to play the greatest role

VI. economic globalization has become a trend. This trend can help domestic printing enterprises expand the market and win more profits

VII. Low cost has become the first choice for overseas buyers. Due to labor and other reasons, the cost of domestic printing industry is still relatively low compared with foreign products, which is also the customary advantage of domestic enterprises. At the same time, it can also make up for the technical gap of products and meet specific buyers

however, this is only one aspect of the current situation. Behind the above opportunities, there are also seven challenges testing us

first, technological constraints. When it comes to the development of printing industry, the first thing we have to talk about is "technology". Nowadays, the printing industry is developing in the direction of high cutting-edge, automation and digitalization. Although China's long history of printing has retained many excellent traditional crafts, sometimes it has just become a bottleneck. Sometimes complacency also makes us miss a lot of learning opportunities. As a highly technological printing industry, the progress of technology has a greater impact than the increase of output

second, the impact of equipment introduction and talent reserve. With good technology, advanced equipment and excellent talents are needed. "A skillful woman cannot make bricks without straw". Only with complete resources in all aspects can we give full play to our greatest advantages. Nowadays, the staffing of domestic printing enterprises is not scientific enough, high-tech talents are scarce, and equipment is obsolete, which is also a stumbling block in our development path

third, the imbalance of the printing industry. In recent years, China's printing industry has been adhering to the road of transforming from a large printing country to a powerful printing country, forming a printing leading area centered on the Pearl River Delta and Yangtze River Delta, and their development speed is also very rapid. But at the same time, there is still a serious geographical and scale imbalance in the printing industry. Such a market situation is also the bottleneck of the overall improvement of the domestic printing industry

IV. test items of continuous decline in profits: low tensile stress, tensile strength, constant tensile stress, constant stress elongation, breaking strength, elongation after fracture, yield strength, yield point elongation, yield point tensile stress, tear strength, peel strength, puncture strength, flexural strength, elastic modulus, etc. At this stage, the soaring price of raw materials, disorderly competition among enterprises and the price reduction from upstream industries have made it more difficult for printing enterprises (especially small and medium-sized enterprises) to operate. In fact, this is just a representation. Naturally, we can't control the price of raw materials or prevent competitive enterprises from reducing prices, but we can improve our own strength and achieve the purpose of reducing costs. Take a simple example: using advanced CTP technology, you can reduce the amount of paper passing by 20% and save more than half of the time. These are the benefits of the application of new technologies. Finally, it falls on the first point above

v. threats from foreign-funded enterprises. Low labor costs make our products very competitive in price. But it also attracts more foreign businesses. Their entry will pose a direct threat to us. Because our remaining advantages will disappear with their entry

VI. constraints of environmental protection. This is an old topic, but the attitude of the current government, in other words, the requirements of the whole society for the printing industry, so that printers can not ignore it

VII. The openness of the industry is not high, and there is business monopoly. Some areas of the printing industry are only open to specific enterprises, and large-scale enterprises have monopoly on some businesses. Such a situation will not promote the printing industry: large enterprises will breed complacency and stagnate technology; And small and medium-sized enterprises will not be able to win more profits because of small business volume, resulting in slow development. In developed countries such as the United States, even high-secret businesses such as banknote printing are also represented by private enterprises. We should moderately liberalize the industry, and fair and open competition will bring a virtuous circle to the market

in fact, this analysis is not to belittle ourselves or respect ourselves. Just put our actual situation in front of us, recognize the situation, grasp the advantages and avoid disadvantages, we will be able to overcome difficulties and meet the future market

opportunities and challenges coexist
